What is the RFDS Plane Pull?

On Saturday 25th May 2024, the RFDS will be hosting an inaugural Plane Pull fundraising event in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section).

Teams of 6 have the opportunity to pull an RFDS aircraft as far as they can across a 24-metre stretch of tarmac. 1 metre for every RFDS aircraft flying around Queensland every day!

This unique challenge provides an opportunity for your workplace to pull together and raise vital funds for one of Australia’s most iconic and respected charities. 

Event Details

Date: Saturday 25th May 2024
Time: 

Event will run from 8am to 2:30pm with teams given waive times prior to event day. Each team of 6 people will have 5 minutes to pull an RFDS aircraft across the 24-metre stretch of tarmac.

Location: RFDS Bundaberg Base
20 Aviation Crescent, Bundaberg
Cost:

Team registration fee $1,500 (this is for all six team members)
Minimum fundraising of $3,000 per team 

Rules and Regulations

Waive times will be drawn at random and groups will need to arrive 30 minutes before their pull time. Each team will be given five minutes to pull the aircraft as far as they can across a 24-metre stretch of tarmac. Once all teams have completed their pull, there will be a championship round with the Top 3 teams competing to become the ultimate Plane Pull winner.
